From Kamar Taj to New Asgard, these Marvel filming locations will drop you into the Avengers’ real world to stand where your heroes assembled.

Look, I love the Avengers. I cried when Tony Stark died. I cheered when Cap lifted Mjolnir. But after my third rewatch of Avengers: Endgame, I thought: what if I researched the places where these gods and goofballs pretended to save the universe?
Here’s the continent-by-continent guide to the most memorable Marvel filming locations that a normal human can visit without a S.H.I.E.L.D. clearance.
Yes, that giant donut from Iron Man 2 is real and New Asgard is actually a tiny Scottish fishing village with one pub and a lot of sheep.

🏰 Europe – Where History Pretends to Be a Superhero Movie
Europe is the MVP. America doesn’t have enough old castles, so Marvel just pointed a camera at anything built before 1800 and said, “That’s Sokovia now.”
- Old Royal Naval College, Greenwich, UK: That fancy S.H.I.E.L.D. HQ where Thor fought Malekith in Thor: The Dark World is a college and Britain’s no.1 Heritage film location.
- Durham Cathedral, England, UK: Asgardian palace from Endgame. Also Hogwarts. Two nerdy birds, one free stone building. Walk where Thor and Harry Potter both roamed.
- Millennium Bridge, London, UK: That futuristic Xandar street from Guardians of the Galaxy is actually a wobbly pedestrian bridge. Free to cross, great views.

- Dover Castle, Dover, UK: Another Hydra base in Sokovia from Avengers: Age of Ultron. Tour the castle and don’t shout “Hail Hydra!” Security hates that.
- Holkham Beach, Norfolk, UK: Void battles from Deadpool and Wolverine. Miles of golden sand. No sign of Ryan Reynolds, but seals might photobomb.
- St Abbs, Scotland, UK: New Asgard in Avengers: Endgame. A tiny fishing village with sheep and a “Twinned with New Asgard” road sign.

- Edinburgh, Scotland: Scottish streets (Cockburn Street, Waverley Station, Royal Mile) during the alien invasion in Avengers: Infinity War.
- Culross, Scotland, UK: A preserved 17th-century Scottish village from Captain America: The First Avenger. Steve Rogers would approve of the quiet charm.
- Skeiðarársandur, Iceland: Svartalfheim, the dark Elf realm in Thor: The Dark World. A bleak black sand desert. Perfect for brooding. Bring a coat even in July.
- Dyrhólaey cliffs, Vik, Iceland: Siberian Hydra facility backdrops in Captain America: Civil War. Stunning cliffs. Still cold. Still bring a coat.

- Liège-Guillemins Train Station, Belgium: Xandar Plaza in Guardians of the Galaxy. Looks like a spaceship. Stand where the Guardians got arrested. No ticket needed.
- Charles Bridge, Prague, Czech Republic: Peter fought a fire elemental in Spiderman: Far From Home. Beautiful bridge, no actual elementals.
- Old Town Square, Prague, Czechia: Another Far From Home spot. Peter’s class trip went wrong. Yours won’t.
- Prague Opera House, Prague, Czechia: Action sequence from Far From Home. Walk all three Prague sites in an afternoon. No Mysterio required.

- Leipzig/Halle Airport, Germany: The Captain America: Civil War airport battle. Sign up for a 1-hour training flight and pretend you’re Team Cap.
- Forte di Bard, Italy: The snowy Hydra base from Avengers: Age of Ultron. A real fortress. Buy a ticket, walk the ramparts, and fight imaginary angry robots.
- Aosta Valley, Italy: Streets of Novi Grad, Sokovia in Avengers: Age of Ultron. Too pretty to be Eastern Europe. Forget the genocide and just enjoy the view.
- Nordmarka, Norway: Doctor Strange‘s mysterious dimension from Multiverse of Madness. Remote, beautiful. Go camping in a hover tent.

🍔 North America – Home of Shawarma and Bad Decisions
Marvel loves Georgia most. Tax credits, not patriotism.
- Porsche Experience Center, Atlanta, Georgia: Avengers HQ from Age of Ultron. Take a tour. Drive a Porsche if you’re rich. Don’t try to suit up in the lobby.
- Grand Central Terminal, New York City: Battle of New York main concourse in The Avengers. Commuters will ignore your nerd joy. Stand there anyway.
- Bethesda Terrace, Central Park, New York City: Thor took Loki back to Asgard here in The Avengers. Picnic spot. Bring shawarma.

- Public Square, Cleveland, Ohio: Stood in for Stuttgart. Loki rallied here on a budget in The Avengers. Ohio is cheap, Marvel was honest about it.
- East 9th Street, Cleveland, Ohio: Dressed as Midtown Manhattan for the climactic Battle of New York in The Avengers. Explore the Rock-and-Roll Hall of Fame nearby.
- Los Angeles Theatre, California: 1940s New York cinema in Agent Carter‘s Season 1 finale. Marble staircases, gold leaf, crystal chandelier.

- Randy’s Donuts, Inglewood, California: Giant rooftop donut from Iron Man 2. Real donuts, legendary photo op. Tony sat there hungover. Relatable.
- Shalom Grill, Los Angeles, California: The shawarma post-credits scene in The Avengers. Eat where the Avengers ate. Most meta meal of your life.
- Ridgecrest, California, USA: Counter-Earth from Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3. High desert, otherworldly rocks. No talking animals, but plenty of coyotes.
- Millennium Biltmore Hotel, Los Angeles, California: The luxurious, secretive meeting places of Los Angeles elites in Agent Carter, Season 2, among other Marvel productions.

- Theodore Roosevelt Island, Washington, D.C.: S.H.I.E.L.D. Triskelion location in Captain America: The Winter Soldier. Buildings are CGI, island is real.
- Valley Plaza Car Park, North Hollywood, California: Carol Danvers crashed through a Blockbuster roof here in Captain Marvel. Empty retail spaces. No VHS tapes left.
- Shaver Lake, Fresno County, California: Carol’s Kree escape pod crash site in Captain Marvel. Public alpine lake. Camping, hiking, and boating.
- Edwards Air Force Base, Century Circle, California: Project Pegasus joint military installation scenes in Captain Marvel. No entry. Open-air aircraft display outside gates.

🕉️ Asia – Temples, Bridges, and That One Desert from Eternals
Nepal and Vietnam are absurdly photogenic. You’ve been warned.
- Digital Media City, Seoul, South Korea: High-tech action with Black Widow. Looks futuristic because it is.
- Gangnam Subway Station, Seoul, South Korea: High-speed chase sequence in Avengers: Age of Ultron. Sadly, no dancing PSY.
- Some Seavit Floating Islands, Seoul, South Korea: Dr. Helen Cho‘s high-tech U-Gin Genetics Research Lab in Avengers: Age of Ultron. Free to walk. Lights up at night.
- Gwangalli Beach & Gwangan Bridge, Busan, South Korea: Neon-drenched car chase in Black Panther. Gorgeous beach, stunning bridge lights. LED light show every evening.

- Cheongdam Grand Bridge, Seoul, South Korea: High-speed train and truck chase in Avengers: Age of Ultron. Marvel really liked Seoul bridges.
- Chittagong, Bangladesh: Ulysses Klaue‘s “African Coast Salvage Yard” in Age of Ultron where Ultron got Vibranium. Real industrial site.
- Wadi Rum Desert, Jordan: Ancestral Plane from Eternals. Mars-like desert. Stay in a Bedouin camp. Expensive but worth every dinar.
- Ha Long Bay, Vietnam: Thanos‘s retirement farm in Infinity War. Jagged green karsts, emerald water. Overnight cruise, kayak, pretend you’re a purple warlord. Don’t snap.

- Patan Durbar Square, Lalitpur, Nepal: Kamar-Taj exterior in Doctor Strange. UNESCO site. Free to wander. Strange walked here. So can you.
- Swayambhunath Stupa, Kathmandu, Nepal: Monkey temple. Strange sought healing here. Monkeys will steal your snacks. Doctor Strange didn’t warn you.
- Pashupatinath Temple, Kathmandu, Nepal: Establishing shots for Doctor Strange along the Bagmati River. Sacred and stunning.
- Thamel District, Kathmandu, Nepal: Chaotic alleyways where Strange walks in Doctor Strange. Great shopping, terrible traffic. All four Nepal sites are amazing.

🏞️ South America – One Very Remote Soul Stone
Brazil and Argentina give us stunning locations. Natural, breathtaking – no Soul Stone sacrifice required.
- Lençóis Maranhenses National Park, Brazil: Desolate planet of Vormir in Infinity War and Endgame. White dunes, blue lagoons. Hard to reach. Fly to São Luís, take a 4×4.
- Iguazu Falls, Argentina/Brazil: Warrior Falls from Black Panther. Massive waterfalls. Walk the walkways. Try not to get coronated by accident.

🦁 Africa – Two Countries, Two Very Different Vibes
Johannesburg‘s urban chaos, Tangier‘s ancient rooftops. Both equally intense.
- Johannesburg, South Africa: Hulkbuster vs. Hulk battle in Age of Ultron. Real city streets. Stand where Hulk smashed a fake car. Don’t look for gamma radiation.
- Tangier Medina, Tangier, Morocco: Rooftop ambush in Black Widow. Ancient maze of alleys. Hire a guide. Those roofs are older than the Avengers.
🦘 Oceania – Australia, Because Why Not
Australia gave us Chris Hemsworth and two different places for Thor to be dramatic. Neither has Odin.
- Albert and Mary Streets, Brisbane, Australia: Dressed as New York in Thor: Ragnarok. Thor and Loki looked for Odin here. You’ll find coffee instead.
- Centennial Park, Sydney, Australia: Battle sequences from Thor: Love and Thunder. Large public park. Good for a picnic. No goats.

The best part? These locations are all real. You can touch the walls of Forte di Bard and eat a donut under the same sign as Tony Stark. The MCU might be fictional, but the places are not.
Now pack your bag, book that flight, and go stand where your favorite hero once stood.
